Rates ENGLISH - SPANISH - RUSSIAN TERMS AND CONDITIONS • The translator shall have the right to see the  document in whole or in part before accepting a  translation job. Reference documents shall also be  provided if available. • A translation or editing/proofreading job is  confirmed by a purchase order, contract or any  similar document containing all information on  rates, delivery, terms of payment, additional  services. • Payment must be settled upon delivery of the  invoice, and in any case no later than 30 days from  the date of submission, after which interest on  arrears will apply (ex.art. 5.1 D.L. 9.10.2002, no.  231).  • For large projects, a down payment of 20% will be  required.  • In case a translation or editing/proofreading job is  cancelled, the customer shall pay a cancellation  fee equal to 10% of the total amount of the  contract. The translation that has already been  performed is forwarded to the client and must be  paid for. • Complaints on a job must be presented within 7  days from the date of delivery of the job.  • Confidentiality is guaranteed.  Let me know exactly what you need and when you need it for, and don’t forget to attach a copy of your text and any  other relevant material. The unit for calculating the cost is the words of the source language.  TRANSLATION AND EDITING/PROOFREADING • The basic rate for translation is € 0.08 per word for English and Spanish, and € 0.10 € per word for Russian • A minimum rate will be applied: 250 words x € 0.08 = € 20 for English and Spanish 250 words x € 0.10 = € 25 for Russian • The basic rate for editing/proofreading is € 0.04 per word for English and Spanish, and € 0.05 € per word for Russian • Additional charges of 20-30% may be applicable, based on the following  considerations: • Degree of technicality • Urgency or work outside normal working hours (nights, weekends or holidays) • Documents with a special formatting or containing tables, graphs or pictures • Unclear or unpolished source text GLOSSARIES The creation or editing rate for glossaries will be based on an hourly rate of € 30.00.
